Neville Pharmacy, on Neville Parade in Newton Aycliffe, has operated for more than 50 years providing the population with healthcare advice and support. It has been owned for the last three years by Rob Pitt, and it has seen some changes since those early days!

Neville Pharmacy offers a complete prescription service, from free collection from the local surgeries on a daily basis to a free delivery service to patients who cannot attend the pharmacy in person. “We realise that we deal with patients across a huge age range, from tiny babies to older patients in their 80’s and 90’s but the same principles apply: If it's important to the customer, then it's important to us too.”
Rob and his team also offer many other services from Neville Pharmacy. “Using our consultation room, we operate a smoking cessation service with our specially trained advisor, Allison White. She has helped over 100 people quit smoking in the last year or so, and we have received great feedback from the clients. Some have been smoking for 20 or 30 years but have been able to quit with our tailored support. We can also offer Medication Use Reviews (MUR). During these, I can sit down with a patient and have a chat about their individual medicines, answering any queries they may have. Often this means that we can have the kind of discussion they don’t feel is important enough to discuss with a doctor and we can do this without an appointment. It's often a lot more convenient, and if we find anything that the doctor can help us with then we always discuss this with them, too. It’s really important to have a great relationship with the GP surgery, because we need to work together for the benefit of the patient.”
Neville Pharmacy also offers a large range of perfumes, gifts and haircare. Anything they don’t stock can be specially ordered, too.
“We also offer a full photographic service, for film and digital photography. We also take passport photos, which we've found to be really popular!”
